This is my first post.  This is not a professional blog.

Any commenting here will be within a social justice safe space.  I reserve the right to ban you, block your comments, delete them entirely, edit them as I see fit, or hold them up to public ridicule (especially if you insult other commenters and use slurs [“-ist” language] of any sort).  I will make a caveat about insults, though.  If it has been determined (from real life and your commenting history on other sites or this one) that you are an unrepentant or clueless bigot, commenters will have a limited right to insult you specifically.  Punch up, not down.  If you’re going to post comments containing potentially upsetting material (especially for abuse survivors), please try to preface that section with a trigger warning.

Witty snark is welcome.  Profanity, when directed against prejudice, bigotry, and intolerance, is also fine.

I am a cisgendered, straight, African-American, atheist man who’s down with the QUILTBAG community.  It’s okay if you call me black (since we fought for that word), but others might not be.  Check to see what people want to be called before describing them.  Comment in good faith.  Be willing to take correction if your privilege has been pointed out to you.  Whatever you do, don’t tone troll those lower down on the privilege ladder.
