Being good-looking versus being beautiful

I’m a high school student and I have a crush on this beautiful girl in my class, but I’ve noticed she’s kinda racist.  I’m half white and half Hispanic. Should I try and ask her out despite her views?

The girl in your class is not beautiful.

My guess is that you and others think she’s conventionally attractive/good-looking.

Beauty implies internal qualities of consideration, respect, and generosity. Since she’s a bigot, she does not have those qualities … at all. The best analogy I can make is smelling a rose smeared with feces. She doesn’t look good to me in the slightest since she sorely lacks the essential attribute of being a good person.

Proceed at your own peril. I personally have a “no bigots” policy when it comes to dating, romance, and sex. But you do you.

Good luck. As a potential target of her hatefulness, you are going to need it.     : – (
