What do nuns do as human being to “cope” with any natural sexual urges. Are they permitted to self-gratify?

I think a lot of them, like their priestly male counterparts, “cope” by engaging in sadism, including sexual abuse of lower ranking nuns and children.

To say the Catholic Church is sex negative is like saying the Pacific Ocean is wet. It’s considered a badge of honor to sacrifice everything for the faith. Nuns actually do this much more so than priests, in terms of their vows and roles. And I’m sure the resentful ones take it out in some fashion on less devout counterparts and children under their care.

Highly constrained sexuality combined with misogyny and sex negativity plus an extreme adherence to obedience have given us the Magdalene Laundries, nuns abusing other nuns, corporal punishment of Catholic children, as well as sexual abuse.

I’m positive many of them masturbate. I’m equally positive many of them take their frustrations out on others with a sick, sadistic, institutionally condoned glee.
