Will I grow any more? I am sixteen and a half [and already ] 6’3”. I grew 2½ inches this past year, but I feel like I haven’t had any significant growth these past few months. My legs are really long for my torso.
Yeah, you probably will grow some more.
Here’s the thing. Everybody’s got something they’re sensitive about.
You know that person who seems to have everything together in high school (cool clothes/car, cute boyfriend/girlfriend/lover, popularity/friends/frequent invitations to parties, conventionally attractive looks)? Yeah, that person. They’ve got something they’re sensitive about, too. They just might be hiding it better in the pressure cooker of conformity that is adolescence.
And, no, I’m not telling you this because that’s what adults always say to teenagers. I’m telling you this because I was that teenager.
A beautiful thing happens when you grow into your adulthood. Qualities that seem (or that others make seem) cringeworthy, unsurvivable, and awkward are what we often learn to find lovely, attractive, and wonderful about ourselves. You most likely will, too.
And if you’re worried about it (and I’m not saying you are), you can absolutely bet there’s more than one someone out there who will love your tall, bad-ass self (♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥).
Rock on. ; – )
