How would a narcissist react to someone protecting them/saving their life?

“What took you so long?”

“Why didn’t you prevent the danger from happening to me in the first place?”

“I didn’t need your help!”

Because of course that’s what a narcissist would think.

Self-preservation at everyone else’s expense is a narcissist’s mantra.
