Childism gets a pass yet again.

Has anyone ever been beaten with an extension cord?  Is it abusive to use an extension cord on a child?

How about having the default childcare paradigm be no hitting and no emotional abuse and no threats? How about just not abusing kids at all? I know people just love their child beating and rationalizations on how “wonderful” they turned out and you know you’ve got to control those bad old kids lest they walk all over you (evidence, please).

It never occurs to them to replace “child” with “woman” or “black woman” or “black lesbian woman” or “disabled person” and compare how unacceptable the argument then becomes … but somehow childism gets a universal free pass.

Yes, I was beaten with an extension cord more than once by my father. It feels like the torture it is. It’s being whipped like a slave. It’s being a slave. It’s being completely disregarded as human or worthwhile. It’s being a great big nothing that anyone bigger or stronger can use as they wish. He left marks and bruises and never faced any sort of punishment or reprimand for this.

So, yeah, it’s obviously abuse. Fuck my father and his outdated, abusive upbringing.
