How is the level of racism Asian people face compares to black people in the US?
Er, um … they both suck?
There are no winners in the Oppression Olympics. How about we erase bigotry and institutionalized oppression for good everywhere, for everyone, and respect all races, all peoples, all ethnicities, all genders, all sexual orientations, all classes, et cetera?
Addendum: I’m a card carrying black person (African American). Racism against us is horrible. I’m pretty sure Asians in America and Asian Americans will tell you they don’t really get much of a benefit for being recast as the “model minority” poster children for white supremacy. Divide and conquer tactics may be differently applied, but they’re perniciously unjust to any oppressed people. Just because I’m considered bad at first sight, I wouldn’t want to be considered one of “the good ones” in a racist culture.
