Chalk one up for the “WarGames” reference.

When women objectify and lust over men, is it a good idea to remind them how much flak men get for doing the same to them, in an attempt to eliminate double standards?

What, like some sexual harassment hamster wheel checkmate? Great, a game that nobody wins. I, for one, refuse to play.

You don’t need to “remind” women of anything. For the most part, the amount of sexual harassment and inappropriate attention (not to mention straight up molestation and rape) women receive is exponentially and categorically worse than most men will ever encounter. Why not work towards a world where no one is singled out for unwanted sexual attention?

And lust isn’t the same as objectification. Many people feel powerful sexual feelings (*raises hand*) without subjecting others to dehumanizing treatment. Trust me, you can do it, too, despite what society, troublesome peers, and history may have mistakenly taught you.
