People locked into constricting, limited, and highly regulated traditional gender roles (playing out “men in charge” and “women submissive” gender life scripts, conservative, possibly bigoted, and believing anything outside of monogamous, heterosexual pair bonding is defective) tend to encourage differences in sexual interactions between men and women.

People that reject the status quo tend to learn that differences usually show up because of individual variation and preference, not gender.
