What surprises me is that you didn’t announce this during the dating stage, where (a) she could have either accepted your conditions for the relationship or (b) rejected them with little difficulty in extricating herself from you.

It seems to me that you planned on springing this on her when she’s already emotionally committed to you, hoping her desire for and trust in you will win out over your questionable ethical standards.

Again, why didn’t you ask her this while you were merely dating? My guess is because you already knew the answer would be no.

In the future, whether you marry this woman or not, get better at asking the difficult questions up front so everyone reasonably knows what they can expect from you.
