Those that declare themselves absolved simply by indicating they’re honest usually get a hard pass from me.
Why? They tend to be flaming assholes that think bashing others with painful truth qualifies as rectitude.
Let me be clear. Being nontraditional (read: ethically diverging from the norm, the majority, or tradition) in a progressive and honorable fashion doesn’t qualify for my hard pass. Those individuals are candid AND principled. They know many won’t like or want what they do and give everyone involved fair warning.
I’m talking about trash human beings that think simply being truthful about shitty behavior equals virtue. I’d rather they lie and be decent people (but there’s scant chance they’ll be so in most cases). Not that deception is ever impunity, but I can understand occasionally wanting to spare others’ feelings from that which they’d find uncomfortable.
In the main, however, sorry, …
I’m not falling for it, hypocrites. 🤨
