When the strongest, smartest, and bravest amongst us accept risks most of us will not, it’s tempting to imagine we don’t have much in common.

Unfortunately, we’re reminded how much we actually do but are rarely willing to admit when life goes wrong.

We share fear and we share love.

The latter is beautiful to witness, the former is horrible to endure, and we only hope for the best.
